Pursuing One's Goal's - Achieving Excellence: Chris Webster's Successful Journey
It is always been an honor and privilege to meet folks from all walks of life, individuals who are so gracious to let us learn a little bit more about their life's journey.
One such person is Chris Webster, of Odon, Indiana. Heavy equipment operator, pizza maker, discount store owner, airplane pilot, dragster owner and racer, and
large scale fireworks operator...oh yes, the fire trucks really do come out for Chris's annual July 4th extravaganza. And let's not overlook, Chris has proven himself
to be a real first class log home builder. Truly this individual has some great skill sets, not discounting a whole lot of perception and old fashioned common sense.
Beyond Chris's many talents and diversified background, now a bit about our paths crossing. At our first meeting, it was apparent this man had done his homework.
When I first asked of Chris, "have you spoken with anyone else in the log home industry?", Chris quickly replied, "Yes I have, I have talked to everyone!".
Though not always the case, that sounded like a familiar response we have often received from "people in planning". It has been my observation that gifted people
like Chris are drawn to the natural beauty and character of log and timber framed homes. It is common to see these individuals pursue their dream home,
first laboring to gain an acute understanding of log homes, and the many styles, log profiles, building techniques, options and more, that all become part of preparing
for the most important buying decision of their life. The investment in any brand new home, whether it is log, timber framed, or conventionally built, is significant.
Upon asking Chris if he would mention a few companies he had contacted, her clarified by saying, "I literally HAVE spoken to EVERY company in the United States".
Chris further elaborated that his log home quest had already involved 15-16 years of planning and information gathering. Our company was something like the
500th+ company to be considered! It was apparent that working with Chris would be lots of fun. To the intuitive reader of this article, the outcome is also obvious.
Several weeks of planning and design later, construction commenced. Then, after dedicated efforts throughout, Chris's Log Home Journey was finally completed.
Soon after, Chris hosted an open house around the 4th of July, and in the style and magnitude one may expect from Chris. Along with a great
cookout and a booming fireworks after dark, live music was also provided, featuring Teea Goins from the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, Tennessee.
Accompanying Teea was a local gospel and mountain blue grass band. You can visit Teea Goins' web site at http://teeagoans.com/.
Best wishes to Teea from Chris, Lisa, & Family.
The Webster's New Log Home: We knew Chris and Lisa's new log home would be very nice, however we didn't realize just how special it really would be.
Here is summary of some of the many wonderful amenities included in the Webster log home. The main structure features 8" x 8" D-Logs, heavy timber
Douglas Fir floor joists and roof beams throughout, a large wrap around heavy timber porch and deck, a green metal roof, all wood log siding on interior walls,
foam insulation in all framed walls, and high performance clad windows and doors. Other amenities include Amish cabinetry, an old time replica wood stove
(a working gas model), all maple flooring, log beds and log furniture, a stoned fireplace and hearth, a heavy timber stair case, round log railings inside and out,
upgrade wood burning stove unit in combination with a conventional furnace, a walk out lower basement level with a patio adjacent to the Webster's private lake,
and the list goes on. This home is based on a modified Bellewood design, a plan we also offer special pricing on, and an online tour. Visit Featured Specials 2.
We are honored to have Chris and Lisa working as Independent Representatives with our company, sharing their story and building testimony, and willing to assist
others who may also also be planning a special new log or timber framed home. We have a few photos of the home below, and plan to add more soon.
You can give Chris a call at 812.444.9728, or also find Chris's contact information located in the Independent Representative listings on our Contact Us page.
Although we worked directly with Chris and essentially have told his story here, Lisa gets at least 50% of the credit, helping Chris plan and build throughout.
Congratulations Chris and Lisa on an outstanding job, very well done indeed!
